Got a patient ear on the other side from all whom I called-hope they really convey the message to the Congressman/congresswoman and hope they are flooded with calls to support the bill.

Since this campaign is endorsed by IV, I think you must mention in your letter that you are a member of Immigration voice so that it is easy for IV to follow up..

One idea is to give GC to AOS applicants regardless of namecheck result, if all
other security checks are OK and let the namecheck run in background . If the namecheck turns out critical , cancel the GC & deport the applicant.
But USCIS and lawyers will loose big time , because of reduced demand for APs,EADs etc.

This is good but the numbers are very less to do anything in the bigger picture(EB2+EB3 pending). Atleast something is better than nothing.
Hope this doesn't lead to laxing on the advocacy day agenda or less efforts from EB2 people on the verge. EB3 people stuck wtih pre -perm labor, no substitution should also be helped, and way to do it , recapture of unused numbers, hold on diversity lottery. Going through advocacy efforts. A united effort has a higher chance.

Congrats!!!! Can you please tell the SR process? Do we have to tell the reason why we want SR on the case? If yes, what was your reason to open SR? Thanks!
You call the 1 800 number
Call 1 800 375 5283 and choose option 1 for English
* choose option 2 for checking case status
* Enter receipt number ........., select 1 to confirm the LIN number is correct
* It reads out the information which you can already see online
* It gives me few options to select now:- (To repeat press 1, to check another case press 2, to report a problem with this case press 3,
Press option 3 (problem with case) and then listen carefully to choose "case is outside processing time" and that should lead you to the representative
note down representative name and his id.
Tell him your information (A number, name, address, priority date etc when he asks for it) and tell him you are current and the case is outside processing time (it's too old case as the information online says they are processing 2009/2010 I 485 cases) and ask him the status of the case.
Ask him that you want to know about if the name check is completed, FBI background clearance passed etc and where is your case right now (assigned to any IO?)
This should trigger him to open an SR. Note down SR number.

* The news of potential revision of the July Visa Bulletin is understandably taken very hard by everyone including this reporter. After spending sleepless evenings and weekends, this reporter feels like being hit by lightening rod from sky. But people should keep their emotion under control for a number of reasons: First, the AILA reports that they are working hard to stop the State Department from doing this. No one knows how much it will work, but no one knows whether they will change their mind either. Just calm down. Secondly, even if it is released, we have no idea which categories and how much there will be a retrogression. Some categories may turn out to be not too bad. We will just have to wait and see. Thirdly, the AILF is seeking a legal remedy should this rumor indeed materialize. This lawsuit threat may or may not affect the State Department one way or another. We are all educated people and should have received a proper training to maintain a decent composure and not to lose morality and reveal weakness of the personality. Losing one or two days will not induce the sky failling down. Availability of July 485 filing is at this juncture depends on two factors: One is whether the July Bulletin will indeed be revised and the numbers will be retrogressed. The other is whether the USCIS and the visa posts around the world will be able to adjudicate all the backlog I-485 or immigrant visa applications in a very short period of time. Until the Visa Bulletin revision news popped up, the only factor that would control the issue of how soon one should send in their I-485 applications was the speed of USCIS backlog 485 application adjudications during the next two weeks or beyond. Campaigns are good. But to solve this problem we have to go back to the basics of human nature, specifically how or what motivates politicians -
1. Votes
2. Money, Fame, Power
3. Good publicity or fear of bad publicity
We can not give #1 or #2 to the politicians. So our only option is #3. This was the reason why the flower campaign had worked, they feared bad pubilicity.
Again, they will not move even a single inch unless there is some motivation and as I said above our only option is #3.

I think you have a good case here....I really don't see why they can't hire EAD's. Especially because it is 'discriminatory' as per regs to do so. If the reason is something else, then they should say so.
Maybe they just want you to sue them and then declare bankruptcy..with all their sub-prime credit card exposure, they must be in bad shape..

I am planning on applying as a dependent using my wife's 485. I already have one 485 application. My question will it affect my wife'e processing. I am not so worried about my processing, if it gets delayed so be it. Also I think the chances of I getting two A# is slim bcos i would mention my A#, in my new 485 application.

How is charging different amounts for the same kind of visa and refusing to correct the mistake OP's personal responsibility ?
Correct. We need to boycott them when they become unreasonable. A great man once moved an entire nation to do just that for a much greater purpose and it delivered results just over 60 years ago.
In a global world, if they choose to remain racist, ignorant and unreasonable, then my $ goes elsewhere. Vote with your wallets and boycott these Brits.

It’s more than 90 days but I didn’t even get the Receipt Notice for said application. How I can get the EAD in 90 days per law when i didn't even get the Receipt Number from USCIS?
USCIS website update says NSC are working with August 13th 2007 received AOS applications. USCIS is not following the First in First out (FIFO) process for sure. Why August received application are getting Receipt Notice and subsequent benefits (EAD, AP, etc) at the expense of July 2nd filed application? It’s unfair to applicant like me.

Is there some master list of companies that have been filed against ? Do you know of anyone on this list that have done so and won ?
What will that accomplish really ? I dont know if working for this place will be a good idea anyway after filing a suit against them... but OTOH if it helps other people or at least if its out there on the net, so other companies wont get his brilliant idea....
